Rice Krispie Treats

So we have a castle cake to make this week, so the turrets need Rice Krispie Treats for the structure, so i thought i'd share a 'how to' and the recipe because its so easy to make and it saves buying hundereds of little packets of them. 

Ingredients:

45g Butter

300g mini marshmallows (any marshmallows will work we just find the mini ones work better)

180g rice krispie

tbls vegetable oil (for oiling the spoon - DO NOT PUT IN THE MIXTURE)

 

place butter and mini marshmallows in a large bowl and microwave for 1 1/2 - 2mins or until completely melted (use a large bowl than you think as the marshmallows expand when melted)

Measure out your rice kispies and add to the melted marshmallows.

Line a cake tin/baking tray with greaseproof/baking paper.

Dip a metal spoon into the oil and shake off excess. Smooth out in the pan and compress as much as possible. 

Wrap in cling film and leave in the fridge to set for at least an hour.

 

This recipe does an 8" square tin at 1" high approx.

(In the pictures i've tripled the recipe with a 12" tin)
