Cakeology Expands

We have just completed a major expansion of our Cakeology shop, almost doubling the size to bring you an even wider range of Cake Decorating Supplies. We have introduced new lines, Claire Bowman Lace, PME Airbrush and Colours, Wedding Favours, Coloured Cake Boards to name a few. It is now possible to buy Renshaw Regal Icing in 2.5kg packs. Our range of edible toppers, baking ingredients and pans have all been expanded. 

The additional space has allowed us to layout the shop to make it easier for you to find things you are looking for, particularly with moulds, cutters and tappits, and toppers.

Remember there is free parking for 20 minutes directly outside our shop. Simply press the green button on the meter to get your pay and display ticket.

Rice Krispie Treats

So we have a castle cake to make this week, so the turrets need Rice Krispie Treats for the structure, so i thought i'd share a 'how to' and the recipe because its so easy to make and it saves buying hundereds of little packets of them. 


45g Butter

300g mini marshmallows (any marshmallows will work we just find the mini ones work better)

180g rice krispie

tbls vegetable oil (for oiling the spoon - DO NOT PUT IN THE MIXTURE)


place butter and mini marshmallows in a large bowl and microwave for 1 1/2 - 2mins or until completely melted (use a large bowl than you think as the marshmallows expand when melted)

Measure out your rice kispies and add to the melted marshmallows.

Line a cake tin/baking tray with greaseproof/baking paper.

Dip a metal spoon into the oil and shake off excess. Smooth out in the pan and compress as much as possible. 

Wrap in cling film and leave in the fridge to set for at least an hour.


This recipe does an 8" square tin at 1" high approx.

(In the pictures i've tripled the recipe with a 12" tin)

New Sugar Peonies!

Check out our new sugar peonies that we have in stock which are an excellent last minute addition to a simple birthday or anniversary cake. It's also a great way to jazz up a wedding cake if you're not a very confident sugar florist. We have a range of sizes and colours and peony sprays are also available.

Discounted courses

So we've got some exciting and some sad news. Cakeology is now bursting at the seams, so we've had to make a tough decision that we will (as of the end of August) no longer be able to teach classes/courses/kids parties! We have to make the shop larger and kitchen larger, so our course room is getting converted. Sadly this means we will have to cancel the kids classes at Halloween and Christmas. 

So some good news for those of you wanting to get some last minute practice in with us as we are offering a 15% discount on all of our courses. These will run even if there is only one person booked on the course so get booking before all of the spaces go!
